You didn't mention a cam swap, so I assume it's stock. I would love to get 16 from mine when done on a light foot on flat ground. The 454 TBI with the NV4500 has gotten 14 all highway unloaded. 8-9 towing our 30' 8,000lb travel trailer. 10-11 avg unloaded everyday driving. I put a super mild cam in my LQ4. Plus I have 3.73 gears.

When I was registering my 3+3 dually I had to have it weighed on a certified scale. I was surprised it was only 5880 lbs. I figured 7000ish with the iron BBC. I am going to reweigh it after my LS turbo swap is all said and done.

Mine is the early for sure, but the outfit who performed the swap for the previous owner switched to the later model top plate with the bolt on shift tower. Which is good if I ever pull the trigger on a short throw shifter. The only one I have seen available for the GM version of the NV4500 is from Core....and that $300 pill is hard to swallow.
Check out my build thread, first build on a squarebody in almost 10 years and was a pain since I needed to run a stock LS ac compressor.
