Engine and shipping did come to about that, but including delivery, taxes, customs, duty etc, it totalled $6400 CDN.
Shipping was a breeze and not nearly as expensive as I supposed it would be. I have ordered stuff on Amazon that took longer to get here. A 500 lbs crate engine went from Nebraska to Edmonton in a week and got plunked down on the shop floor with no issue. I was expecting it to get lost or tip over or sent to the other side of the country, so I was pleasantly surprised.
