In 1966 they did away with the e-brake crossmember and the related mechanism replacing it with a simpler lighter design. The cable from the handle linked up to a triangulated cable secured to the frame with hook/eye type retainers. I personally dont have one like that, but I do know they are a desirable upgrade when converting to an automatic transmission.
As for me, I went backward on my '66 since my triangulated cable setup was thrashed and I already had the crossmember type in my stash. But here is a good link...
