The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network - View Single Post - "Mid-ship" bearing?

On the my suburban I have a bearing between my front and rear drive shaft coming off the back of the trans. Its held in place by a cross member. I have heard it called a mid-ship bearing but I havent found anything online about them. Is that truely the name?
