Re: Suspension 101
Super73, I've been studying your work and plugging some numbers into the spread sheet and want to make sure I'm interpreting this correctly.
I have two 2" dropped Eibach springs that ride like a rock and don't let the truck lift a bit to transfer weight to the back. I measured the installed height and came up with 10" which I want to keep. I plugged the number into the spread sheet and the closest one is:
47195
Free Height 18
Rate 250
Coil Bind 6.875
Total front weight supported 3866
Weight Supported (each spring) 1933
Length at ride height 10.268
Amount compressed 7.732
Compression before bind 3.393
Desired Compressed Height 10
Difference 0.27
Ride height Change 0.51
So, If I understand what I'm doing I should order spring 47195 correct?
Also, the unsprung Eibach spring starts out a lot shorter and doesn't compress nearly as much as spring 47195, can I expect 47195 to ride more gently than the Eibach?
