Rear 5-Lug Axle Swap & Carrier Question

Restoring my 67 C10 (12-bolt rear) and have a new Auburn Gear limited slip carrier and new ring and pinion. All set up by a reputable shop. My truck was originally a 6-lug truck and I purchased the 5-lug conversion axles from CPP. The carrier cross pin was tight to push out with my finger and the new axles and c-clips installed fine. The carrier cross pin was tight going back in. I had to tap it in with a hammer and brass punch and there is no play in the axles. Ideally it would have been good if it would have slid right in by hand. Because it is tight I expect that, if the axels are ever removed, then the cross pin will need to be tapped back out. So here is my question...

Is it ok that the cross pin was and is a little tight to install with the new axles?

Thanks for any guidance on this
