My thoughts, are that that would be a bunch of work with a file! If you have a chop saw....or know a bud who does, You could chain the wheel down & set the vise loose enough to turn the axle by hand. Do support the outer end to keep things square....then just bump the axle into the wheel & turn it by hand(may take 2 guys to play). You can check the width of the button, with dial calipers(check often, & dont let the axle get too damn hot). I would not cool with water, but use compressed air to cool thing down. Check to hit the lower end of the spec(say .015-.020, as metal tends to grow when hot) Hope that helps a tad more. Longhorn
