Yes, they still use the vortec nomenclature across the board.

What’s funny is that the “LS” name given to 3rd and 4th generation Chevy engines was partly created by GM and the consumers. LS came from from the first version of the 3rd gen GM motor that was in the 1997 corvette. The RPO code was LS1. So everybody referred to it as the LS motor, even though not all the RPO variants had LS in it, i.e. LM7, LQ4, LQ9, LS2, etc.

Same holds true for the 5th gen engines with the LT1 RPO code found in the 2014 Corvette, but everyone says LT engine.

It’s like the Crescent wrench and how Crescent was the manufacture of that style of wrench, but still today everybody says a Crescent wrench to describe the style of wrench and not the manufacturer.
