Love my 2 wheel drive 99 SWB Silverado 1500 5.3L.
It may be worth more than I paid for it @175K miles.
I have only seen a few with the 5.3L motor.
Motor has been issue free.
All the window lift motors have been replaced at lest once.
The heater core has to be back-flushed often.
I even change and flush the antifreeze? Haven't figured this one out.

Transmission has been rebuilt twice. Once with 60K on it and the second with 160K on it. Both times the center shell broke at the hub.

Emergency brake is a joke. Requires replacement every-time I do the rear brakes. It is never used, I mean never as it is a automatic.

I have changed plugs and wires once. That's it on the motor. Not even a sensor failure!

Worst item is the seat. I don't know what GM was thinking it sucked, for me anyway. I replaced the sets with buckets from a 2003. I would have sold the truck without the seat replacement.

Radio wasn't very good from the factory and the CD player went out years ago. Updated the radio to a large panel with hands free and Apple Play. Makes the old truck tolerable with a modern radio.

Still it is inexpensive per mile. I just checked the mileage on a 200 mile trip, mostly highway, it got 17mpg. Owned it for over 20 years. Truck owes me nothing.
