Re: Rear axle width

I wasn't using a shop manual. I was using the GM Heritage center vehicle information kit pfd.

This link takes you to the list of years and models https://www.gm.com/heritage/archive/...formation-kits

This is the top page for the PFD for 57 Chevy trucks. Most of the specifications you may need are in the pfd. https://www.gm.com/heritage/archive/...formation-kits

The link that HBC3200 provided should take you to the spot where you can find the 57 truck manual online.

You can buy the paper copies or originals from a number of sources and The factory service manuals from that time frame are written so that anyone who can read and comprehend can follow them. I'd buy both the service manual and the factory assembly manual for my library.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
