The stripes on the hood were part of the RPO ZY5 "Exterior Decor Package". It was one of the several available factory paint combinations.

ZY1 = solid color
ZY2 = conventional two-tone ... secondary color on the top & upper rear of cab.
ZY3 = special two-tone ... secondary color on the sides along the middle.
ZY4 = deluxe two-tone ... a combination of the ZY2 & ZY3 with secondary color on both the top & upper rear of the cab plus the sides along the middle.
ZY5 = exterior decor package ... basically ZY4 with the addition of the secondary color on the hood, stripes on the hood, and a hood ornament.
