LOL...agree. i did the same setup on my ‘72 (universal pieces) so I was expecting some modifications. I read a little deeper in the instructions & noticed the hoses are 2 different sizes- this helps a little. I still scratch my head as to why they have you connect round hose to oval openings, my guess is to help with the overall unit size��. I still feel they are the better system, but i am a simple guy & sometimes instructions are confusing����
