I just used the old mounting bolt on the rear. The square body rear has a stud that is mounted through the upper eye of the shock. It comes that way from Bilstein. You just have to grind one end of it off and drive it out, and then the shock is exactly like a 1972 should be, correct length, and mounts. It is not difficult, not much grinding involved, and driving the stud out was not difficult either. If your original bolt is not useable, should be easy to replace out of the hardware store. 1972 fronts are available from Bilstein, and exactly like the square bodies, they did not change. Look at a picture of the rear on bilsteins website and you will see what needs to be done to modify them, its not hard. Hope this helps, sorry for the late reply.
