I've got custom car buddies who tend to want to do exactly what Dsraven was fussing about. put tiny lenses in spots you don't expect to see brake lights that are often real close together (in bumper guards) in the name of having a smooth custom look and the end product is a set of lights that are too low and that someone following you may not be looking for or may be too close to see. The taillights on my 48 are flush fit below the tailgate and I got fussed at a number of times because they didn't show up well. Including a couple of cops who said they weren't bright enough.
