suburban rear suspension?????

Ok I've been around 67-72 p/u for 26 years and just never got to involved in 'burbs.
And I know the coil spring/leaf spring options (coil std chevy/ leaf optional & gmc std leaf spring/coil optional)

I do own a 3/4 2WD Chevy 'burb (one day to be a project) and it has coil springs on the rear.
Did all Chevy 2WD subs get produced as coil spring on the rear or was the leaf spring option available?
And the like question with GMCs
And I figure all 4wd were leaf sprung.
