Center link

I have a 67 C20 and want to put in a CPP power steering kit to replace the original factory power steering. To make it work, CPP says I need a center link from a 63-70 3/4 ton that had manual steering. Anyone done this?

be very careful using CPP stuff, we had a customer with one of their p-s boxes on a 66 chevelle big block that would randomly lock up when trying to turn. i ordered him a red head p-s box and when i asked if they would accept the CPP box as a core their reply was "absolutely not, throw that Chinese made piece of $hit in the trash can". personally, i'd never use their stuff but that's just my opinion.

Re: Center link

Thanks. I’ll do some more checking. I liked the idea of a complete kit like CPP has. We have looked at Redhead. Is it made in USA?

they are in Washington, state not DC. we use them all the time at the shop where i work and have never had a defective unit from them, our local 4x4 shop uses them too on the lifted trucks with big tires.

Re: Center link

I got mine at Manes Truck Parts via phone order. They have them in their online catalog, and it says "not always in stock." It was used and dirty, and worked just fine. I suggest give them a call on Monday. https://www.manestruckparts.com/stor...roduct_ID=1358 Other options include post a want-to-buy ad in the parts section of this forum, since you're a premium member you can do that. Welcome to the forum.

Re: Center link

jaero, I was responding to Allenb that I got a half ton center link there. I don't know if you could get a 3/4 ton center link at Manes and don't know if 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton use the same center links.
