FOR SALE in Central Ohio Dually Bed

Complete 1979 C30 crew cab dually bed for truck with left and right gas tanks. No dents, surface rust underneath. Had a campershell and bedline since new. Some surface rust on the sides from incomplete paint prep. No rust through. Bed includes both fiberglass fenders (no damage), tailgate, all lights and bedliner. This bed will fit 73 thru 87 truck. 73-80 has round gas fill. 81-87 has square gas fill with a door. Sold as is, PICKUP ONLY. Email for pics. $350. Also have camper shell for this bed $200. Have both left and right gas tanks and filler necks, both included in price of bed if you remove them. The bed is already disconnected from frame. It would take one hour to remove both tanks.

I think I have this sold, the buyer is supposed to pick it up this Saturday.

I would only sell the glass fenders if the rest of the bed were damaged or rusted beyond useful repair.

I also have another person interested in the entire bed if the current buyer does not make it this Saturday.

Thanks for asking though.

I have other dually and crew cab parts if you need anything else.

I don't know if I can get this done this weekend or not. I'll let you know as soon as I can.

Weight will not be the issue its the size.

Thanks.

Ric, what is there condition they look like someone tried to re move the the paint with a wood chisel / paint remover. Let's be honest, I can't afford to send them back if they are not what you say.
Thanks, Dan

Dan,

I appreciate your concern. This truck is visually confusing to look at. This truck had a custom epoxy paint job with murals down the side. One of the locals attempted to remove the paint with a DA. He quit when he relaized how much work this was and parked the truck in a warehouse. This was in 1996. It set there until I purchased it 3 months ago. This is a complete running truck. The dark spots on the paint are areas that went down to the metal and now have some surface rust. Other than the effort to remove the paint the sheet metal and fiberglass appear to be in very good condition.

If you send me your email address I can send you the rest of the pics I have for your review. I will be taking these off the bed today and weighing them to get your shipping quote. I can take more pics then if this would help you.

GMC,
Most of the trucks I buy for parts are projects somebody quit on and usually do not have any of these parts left on them or they did not have them to begin with.

Dan,

I weighed and measured both fenders today. I checked the rates at USPS, UPS and FedEx based on these numbers. The fenders would have to be shipped Oversize Parcel. USPS is the cheapest at $120 per fender, which is ridiculous.

At least I have them off the bed now. Forgot how tough these were to remove.

Dan,

You are correct, Greyhound does offer Package Express. I have used this quite successfully many times. They ship primarily by weight, then size.

There are two issues that I have found that not everybody likes about Greyhound. One they don't go to every town, as you might think, and two, they don't come to your house.

For instance, in your case 95431 is not a Greyhound stop, but Santa Rosa is, which is about 15 miles from 95431. Shipping cost to 95431 for both fenders is $64.20 which includes insurance and does not include me finding a box for each fender.

GM didn't make these to begin with, they were outsourced and may still be today. What NOS fenders do you have? If they have a Rockell International Plastics sticker on the inside they are the same as the ones that originally came on the truck. There's only one aftermarket unit that I like and they are hand laid fiberglass and are better than original.

Let me know what you'd like to do. I sold the rest of the bed this past weekend.

Yankee,

What are you asking for you dually rear fenders? I don't care if they are GM or not. They can't be cracked or split because the high pressure process used to make these strong and light also makes them brittle and nearly unrepairable when they are split or cracked. Holes fix okay.

I sold the ones originally advertised in this post last weekend and I have someone else interested in a set.

The set I sold included the fenders, the inner fender strips, the front brace and all the special studs and nuts to mount the fender to the sheetmetal. Is this what you have? If not let me know and what you might for you have. What year are they from I always get asked so I'll need to know.

You said you have other dually parts, what else exactly do you have? Year? Condition? I move parts fairly quickly so let me know asap, you might have something I can use.

Thanks.
