putting a aftermarket oil pressure gauge
Looking for a little help? I am putting a aftermarket oil pressure gauge and need to know what fitting you guys use to connect them behind the block?

The kits come with everything you need to install the gage . Don’t use the supplied plastic tubing buy the copper . I just put one in my 72 on the new motor

I went with an electric pressure gauge because I didn’t want an oil line, copper or not, inside the cab.

I am still going to run the stock one in the dash cluster and going to use a under dash autometer oil and temp gauge. Going to use the same spot on the back of the block but need a fitting that has 2 outlets?

You'll probably have to use a TEE with a short pipe nipple.

Or use another oil port . The one under the distributor isn’t easy to access. I used the one on the front over the timing cover for the stock electric unit on my 85 . It already had a mechanical hooked up under the distributor. There is also a port just above the oil filter boss on most Chevy v8s . Both would be a lot easier to access if you’re running two . I made a bracket for the sender so it didn’t vibrate . No leaks after three years

The oil pressure port behind the intake manifold is 1/8" NPT.
Lots of tee fittings to choose from: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=1%2F8+npt+tee+fitting You may also need a section of straight pipe to raise the tee. Not all blocks have an oil pressure port above the timing chain cover, but most have a port just above the oil filter.

OP, if its a SBC there should be a NPT plug above oil filter you can use for the electronic sender. Some headers can be a conflict with that port.
To maintain the stock sender but use that same port, a combo of 1/8 NPT fittings to allow both senders to occupy that space. Due to headers, I had to come up with a combination for this and also clear the coil mounted on my intake manifold. straight, 90 and 45 degree fittings are available on Amazon and some auto part stores |
