72 ck 20 paint code 51410 (med red)

This is the original paint from the factory. Almost could be a mix of the red and hugger orange
Anyone else use this paint ?
And is it a 2 part base paint ?
% using 2 part sealer primer vs hi build
Thank you guys

Re: 72 ck 20 paint code 51410 (med red)

In '72 it most likely, would have been a single stage. Today, most likely it would be sprayed as a base/clear. But a 2k single stage is also perfectly acceptable. If that's what the customer wants.

A 2k (2 part ) high build, is a catalyzed primer/surfacer for use in the bodywork stage.

A 2k ( 2 part ) catalyzed sealer. Is used in the painting stage. To provide a uniform base color, and a chemical bond between the base color and the final sanded substrate.

Depending on brand and the exact product,. There are some 2k primer/surfacers that can be sprayed as a high build, medium build, and sealer.

Generally speaking . . .
