72 Sierra Grande Help

Hi Guys can anyone give me some help taken my roof off my 72 GMC the best way to approach it and putting one back on ??.Thanks

Are you talking just the skin or the entire roof inner and outer?

Just the roof skin how do you remove it and install a new one im thinking that i can get at the inner roof header better also.Thank

Here are the spot welds on the cab roof.(x's) Problem is some are really hard to get to because they are inside the cab. You would probably have to cut the outside skin off of the rear next to the pinch weld, then drill the spot welds out. The front and sides are under the drip rail caulking.....

IMHO the easiest way would be to use a cutoff wheel and cut around the entire perimeter. Remove the skin and then separate all of the spot welds and clean up the flanges. The hard part is attaching the new skin at the rear flange. Some have used adhesive and been creative with bringing those rear flanges together.
