My 50/50 72 Resto Mod Build

No matter how many classic cars and trucks I have had over the I always seem to come back to the the 67-72 Chevy truck. It has everything to do with the fact my dad bought his 72 a month after I was born. I have such good memories riding around and spending time with my dad in that truck. My Pops turned 86 this year and is still driving the same truck, which is still mostly original. I turned 50 in 2022 and while I would not call it a mid life crisis I have been looking at things in my life differently and focusing more on things that are meaningful and bring myself and others joy. I decided to build a 72 which is why I named the build 50/50, the truck and I are the same age. The plan for the truck is to build what I want a resto-mod if you will that will stand the test of time. I truck my boys can still enjoy long after I am gone (not that I am planning to go anywhere anytime soon). I hope you enjoy following along.

Located a 72 SWB cab and chassis locally from a board member which appeared to be in pretty good shape overall.

Re: My 50/50 72 Resto Mod Build

Decided to go with QA1 coil over kit for the suspension. I looked at a lot of kits and decided this one would work OVERALL best for what I am building. Painted the chassis with Eastwood Chassis paint after prep and two coats of epoxy primer. Went with Doug's LS swap transmission cross member, ordered a Boyd's tank, and a ford nine inch from Speed way motors. Working to get all of these items installed. Here is progress so far

Re: My 50/50 72 Resto Mod Build

Got the front suspension almost wrapped up just need to finish up the front sway bar and brakes. Waiting on brackets for both . Moved on to the rear suspension. Got the rear arms and ford 9 Inch rear end mocked up for now. The rear end came from Speedway and is direct bolt in for our trucks overall I am impressed with it. I will be installing rear disc brakes from Quick Performance. Hoping to get those this weekend.. Been Very busy at work so we will see.
