I recently bought a set of GMC hubcaps from a fellow board memeber and he sent me the wrong ones. I sent him a picture of the hubcaps I was looking for to verify that the ones he had were the same. He said they were. I got them last Thursday, May 2nd. I've tried contacting him via e-mail but have gotten no response. The top picture is the one I sent him and the bottom one shows the caps that he sent. Not even close. I'll withhold his name for a couple more days, then I'll have to drag it through the dirt. Not cool dude! E-MAIL ME ASAP!

To be fair to every body, if those are the pictures you went buy, I could see someone getting confused. I had to look a long time to tell any difference and I am still not sure. First send clearer pictures if you don't want confustion. Try very hard to contact this person before making him out to be a ripoff,you never know he could be out of town to attend a friends funeral,and your little hubcaps might not rate high on his list of things to do today. And finally if you contact him and he does want to help you out,skunks work much better than goats.

Tom Hand brings up a good point but I think the guy should have at a minimum said the letters were red. I have bought a part off the internet thatthe seller left out a "minor detail" which was major enough for me not to want the part but he would not take it back. Worked out an eschange, he sent me a coupole more parts to make up for the "oversight".

Anyway, sending the seller a pic of the parts you want should have been enough for the seller to know you were very particular about your needs.

I don't like when a deal goes sour either but I have to agree with Tom on this. That picture of yours leaves alot of room for honest mistakes to happen. The member in question may not realize the deal has had problems and could be anywhere doing anything for weeks. In all fairness you should give this guy a good amount of time to get back to you. Phoning him is not a bad idea if he has a machine he may check it remotely. Most people don't check their
e-mail remotely.

slammed67, I know it is disapointing to recieve something you purchased and it is not what you expected, but you should give the guy the benefit of the doubt for a period of time. I don't know what you spent, or how many you bought, but I hardly think it worth it for him to rip you off. I have jumped the gun on something like this before, only to end up imbarrassed and appologizing.

I have to agree when I looked at the pic I had to look several times to make sure that they wern't the same. A little more light when you take the pic would help out a lot.

Has the person still been posting on the board? I would also agree that the pic is not all that clear but the caps on the bottom have a distinctive edge that the cap from the first pic doesn't.

I don't want to ruffle any feathers here but it is pretty obvious the differences in the hubcaps here. The first one has the black GMC set in chrome background and black paint above and below. The rest of the hubcap is chrome or faded black paint rings. The bottom picture has red GMC with a full chrome center background with small red ring and on the outside alternating black paint and chrome.

I would be upset with this. But like others, give the seller some time to respond back before starting up a lynch mob.

Since we all already know which is the right one and which is the wrong one it is easy to pass judgement but that photo sucks. The light level is so low that there could have been red in it and it would still be difficult to tell what color it is. Ever notice that in low light we humans lose the ability to distinguish colors well. Give the guy a chance.

I'm not even looking @ the colors...the alternating black & chrome gave it away. To be honest I know the top looks like an original 67-72 GM style(I've got a set for my chevy)& the bottom is later 73 up style. I guess since I have some of the old ones(that took yrs to find) it's easier to tell them apart from the newer style.

They look the same alright. Both round and say GMC.

I'd guess the bottom one is the cheapo 80's style.

IMO some people overlook certain details - to me it's obvious the difference by just looking at the center of each - nevermind the color. But that's just me...I do think it might of been an honest mistake but should be made right.

To be honest I know the top looks like an original 67-72 GM style(I've got a set for my chevy)& the bottom is later 73 up style.
