I tried Search...Who's happy with their carpet?
I saw a thread about the best carpet for fit but for the life of me, I can't find it now. Sooo... What kind of fit and durability have you had with aftermarket carpet and where should I get it? I would also like to now about bench seat buns and covers. I have all the cash I need to complete my truck. I just don't want to make high dollar mistakes. The truck is a 71 Cheyenne with a low hump.
Thanks!! |

I got mine from Classic Parts of America and I'm extremely happy with it. It's pre-molded and the fit was awesome! It also came with a backer on it already. I also ordered the chrome sill plates from them too.

Re: I tried Search...Who's happy with their carpet?
Auto Custom Carpets....a company not a product. ACC has a fairly good reproduction of the factory moulded carpet. It fits and you can order it for a truck with the tank in the cab or removed, floorshift or column shift, high hump or low. Price is about 130.00.
If you want something made from better carpet you have to hire it out to a custom shop or get someone to sew it for you. Cut and sew carpets are REALLY pricey if you have them made but you need a heavy duty industrial machine to sew it yourself. And, something that looks good will be very expensive...%70-$90.00 / yard. If you don't know what cut and sew looks like here's a friends 56 Chevy BelAir with 1200.00 worth of cut and sew tan Rolls Royce carpeting. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/a...z/P1000212.jpg Last edited by Fitz; 03-17-2010 at 11:30 AM. |

We got the carpet for my wife's truck from Classic Parts also, same color as a matter of fact. We were very pleased with the quality and fit also. It's been awhile, but I believe it was ACC brand??

I don't remember what the brand was now but I don't think I've seen a better product.

I have used ACC carpet in my Jeeps, and now my trucks. I am very pleased with it.
