Instrument Cluster...

Need some info if you please....

I am working on a 88' Silverado and would like to upgrade the Cluster to a later model, say 92' and up,I think 92'-98 will "Plug and play" Am I correct in this? Dave

Will not work. I bought a '92 cluster for my '88. The plug in the back of the cluster is different.

Oh man I was hoping it would, took the radio out of my 93' and plugged right in to the 88'. I sure do wan't to get rid of those awful gauges in the 88'

to our forum. Sorry your first request for info didn't produce the answer you wanted. However, stay tuned to this same station for news breaks that may be what you wanted to hear. One thing we have here is the "voice of experience" on many levels.

We also have other forums that are more general in substance and may be something you'd want to check out.

But, for the 88-98's, we're the place to hang out.

Here is a great post explaining the whole thing. The '92-'94 instruments can work with some rewiring and the installation of an external DRAC from the same model years. '95 and up the whole dash changed.
