My project c10 build thread
Well i've been wanting to start a build thread for sometime now. been working on my truck for 2years now, started out as a 72 c10 longbed. I bought the truck from a guy for $750.00, he wanted to make it a short bed so he cut 15 inches off the rear of the frame, he didnt know he had to shorten the wheel base. Need less to say i had to build a back half for it, this is my 5th project, also have a 62 nova, a 70 & 71 chevelle, and a toyota minitruck. Being a minitrucker at heart, I'am fortunate to have the experience to do all my own fabrication, suspension, body,& paint work. I'll be posting photos of my project as i go, let me know what u guy's think. Its been a lot of work, and theres still a lot of work to do go.

Re: My project c10 build thread
Since the PO cut off 15 inches, are you just going to leave the 15 cut off?

Re: My project c10 build thread
Since the guy before me cut off 15inches off the rear, I decided to make it a short bed and just build the back half for the 115 inch shortbed wheelbase

Re: My project c10 build thread
Now with the frame inside i'll start boxing it all in, had to change the way the trans crossmember mounts, also ran tubing inside the rails for wires or line to try to hide some of the wiring after its painted.

Re: My project c10 build thread
Cabs back on along with the frt core supt and fenders, just trying to mock up everything, will need to build motor mounts to lower the motor due to the 2.5 inch z, also running a V8 vega oil pan, able to lower the motor more with it

Re: My project c10 build thread
looks realy good ..... you know you could've saved youreself a ton of work in the front of the frame if you used a dropmember : motor allready mount lower (even different mounts so you can change the engine from smal to big to lt to ls1 to 7 ) frontwheels move forwarth a little to fit the wheelwhel better it has rack and pinion steering has all the mountings needed for the airbags and lay frame without a z

Re: My project c10 build thread
Ya I know, however i had more time then cash at that point, so when i zed the frt frame, i also moved the frt crossmember forward too, then i'am running cpp's 14inch big brake kit that narrows the frt with.

Re: My project c10 build thread
So now to start the body work, want to do something different to the truck so going to chop the roof, thinking of a mild chop.

Re: My project c10 build thread
First need to gut the inside, cut the dash out, will be putting a 55 chevy dash in it. then have to brace the body, and cut the window frames out because i want to use all stock glass for the chop.
