Need advice on best method of fixing hole in cowl area that leaks water???

Every time it rains, the driver side floor is wet on my 72 K10. I decided to find the problem by sitting inside while someone held a water hose to the windshield. Sure enough it started to drip water. I moved my AC vent hose aside and noticed a 1/4" size hole with sunlight coming through. I want to block this up but was wondering what would be the best to use (has to last through ND winters and such). I have some of this Plastic Poxy brand stuff that gets good and hard but will it last against water running next to it (don't see why it wouldn't). I like this idea because I can work into the hole while somesort of silicone or something similar would be harder to work with. Thanks.

I have some JB weld but remember this is going in upside down (in the inside of the cab) and JB might run.

Cut a 2" square piece of duct tape, put a dab of JB Weld in the middle, and press it over the hole. That'll hold it 'till it sets up.
