Even more confused now, Need help Please!

Here is the problem. I thought I finally figured out what color I was gonna paint the truck. I was gonna go orange with a white top, see photo attached ( thanks to FILICE72C10 ).

BUT tonight I was at the weekly car meet ( first time I get there this year) and there is one 72 GMC cheyenne with the orange and white paint job, white roof and white stripe. Then there was also one that was all orange no white on it. Then a third one showed up all orange also. I really like the solid color bottom and white top but since it seems that everyone like orange, I think I will need to change color. Also my fiance doesn't like the orange now that she sees a truck up close done in it.

I know that I am gonna have a black dash pad and black arm rests ( thanks to http://www.****************.com , and the seat I have is a grey color. I also plan on going with black carpeting throughout.

What color should I change to that will go with the black interior and would look nice with a white roof. My fiance was saying to go with a bright yellow, a friend of ours said to go with Shrek green, hehe.

I need suggestions. I spoke to one guy that told me to bring my cab in once I strip it of wires and glass and they will give me a quote on getting all the repair panels welded. So if that gets done I will need to pick a color scheme soon.

Sorry for the long post. I really need suggestions to think about.

Well I have a 2003 Malibu that is Galaxy Silver Metalic and a friend has a 2001 Grand Am GT in the same color, not sure if I wanna do my truck in the same, lol.
Right now the truck is done in a dark green with gold trim so I may have to try a different green in that case.

Yellow may just be the way to go, Hmmmm.

Try to find a unique shade of orange. There are decades of orange colors that came out of the big three, you are bound to find something you like. I am planning on an orange color that i found but I will never tell where I got it from.

GMC69,
Have you seen 1968GMC's yellow and white? You should - it will convince you of the merits of yellow with a white top. He's posted lots of pics - you should check it out.

I was just thinking of asking if people have any pics that I can use as suggestions. I guess I will search the board later today for pics once I get some time.

Thanks again to those who replied

Well I have been looking around at other trucks on here and was also showing Renee to see what she thought. We both agree that the GMC will have the grill and bumpers painted to match. She doesn't really want to go with orange cause there are to many around here ( not like there are many trucks form 67-72 to start with). She did like the idea of going yellow.

She now has me doing barbed wire instead of flames on it, but I was trying to explain to her that I wanted to get this truck done for cheap, LOL and not spend 5,000$ on a paint job. I plan on using this truck like a truck, class III hitch is going on it and it will get driven, so I don't wanna be too concerned with it getting an occasional scuff or scratch.

So I guess that rules out the pearl top coat I was planning, LMFAO.

Anyone have any other pics for suggestions??? I did see a couple of grey with purple that looked pretty cool. Right now I am open for just about anything. Prefferably not all one color. THe original color on the truck was a light blue not sure the color code off hand. It is currently green ( my avatar) and it can't be red or orange cause there are too many around.

Go ahead post pictures of ANY suggestion you may have, they will all be considered if they are serious, LOL. I will show Renee and see what she thinks. She did mention yellow with pruple flames then I showed her a pic of a similar truck on the forum. She has good ideas, just not cheap ones, hehe.

You can see my 69 truck in my avatar. I paint every car I build orange. It makes me pretty well known around here as the guy with the orange stuff.

It a Ford Tangerine color, so it's definitely different than all of the run of the mill Hugger and Omaha orange trucks out there.

Well there is a little bit of a development. I know have access to someone who does airbrushing at a REALLY GOOD rate, lol. He actually had his own company going till he sold it and started singing country music on the road.
Anyhow he is still doing airbrushing on the side.

SO now if anyone can give me any links to really cool looking paint jobs so I can get some suggestions.

Any help would be nice.

NO offense to Renee, but is it her truck? Hell if I listened to my wife all my vehicles would be blue, which I hate with a passion!

LOL. Nope it is my truck. She has a 1970 Dodge Fargo Power Wagon that she wants me to rebuild.

I was really likeing the orange but after seeing that most of the other trucks like mine are orange I started to not like it. I want something to look different than the next guy. That is why I am looking for suggestions for different color combinations and whatnot so I can see what else I like out there.
