Question about fuel sending unit....

I have a 67 chev stepside that has been restored for a few years now and had a custom fuel tank built for it but never installed a fuel sending unit in it...If anyone can help or knows of any aftermarket, or the best place, and what kind of fuel sending unit that will match the ohms to my stock fuel gauge.... it would really help me out... thanks

Re: Question about fuel sending unit....

The stock fuel gauge requires a 0-90ohm fuel sending unit. Sorry I can't advise you on where to find one that would fit your custom tank but now you know the Ohm rating to look for.

Re: Question about fuel sending unit....

First, since it's a custom tank does it have an opening for the fuel sending unit?

If it does you may be able to get a universal unit that would fit it. I bought one for my farm tractor and it works fairly well. There are several places you can purchase them. I bought mine at a tractor supply store. You can find the in a marine supply store or online also. If you google "universal sending units" you will find a variety you can purchase on line.

Good luck.
