Oil finish on wood beds?

Has anyone had success with a simple oil finish on their wood bed? I'm building a nice truck but admittedly I might have to actually put a sack of groceries in the bed and just can't see a high dollar, less than practical finish when I could periodically and simply re-oil the wood as needed. ANY thoughts would be appreciated.

Mimwax makes lots of good stuff available everywhere, like hardware stores.

If you're looking for an affordable wood stain that would make your truck bed pop, I would suggest finding a quality semi-transparent stain. hey provide a hint of color while still permitting the texture and wood grain to show through.
