Re: 4.3 vs 2.8 dimensions

Well, the 4.3 is going to be the same as any SBC v-8 except lengthwise; Drain plug to carb(if quadrajet) is 25.71 inches height-wise. Width from sparkplug tip to sparkplug tip is 20.73 inches.

The 2.8's dimensions are a little fuzzy for me to decipher because they are in millimeters to start ( i think?) Will report back later....maybe.

Probably best to go to a salvage yard and measure.

2wd or 4wd? I think the 4wd oil pans are deeper.

I can try to measure mine (weather permitting!). I've got a 2.8L in one S10 and a 4.3L in another - both are 4wd...

Re: 4.3 vs 2.8 dimensions

2.8L
Width: 16"
Height: 24"
Length: 16"

4.3L
Width: 20.5"
Height: 24.5"
Length: 17.75"

These are both 4wd, carbed.
