Axle question

First off I gotta say this is an awesome forum. I have been lurking for a few years reading everyones post and finally bought a project truck. Its a 1958 3/4 ton apache. Its a complete original truck with little rust on the cab corners, other than that its solid. I have never done a restoration before, but after reading all the posts on this forum for the past two years I thought I would give it a try. I know it wont turn out perfect like most of the trucks on here, but i'm sure it will be ok. My question is about the axles. It has the original running gear , so it does not ride like a cadillac, but I was told by someone that if I changed to 1/2 ton axles it would improve the ride. I have a set of 1/2 ton axles that someone gave me so it would just be labor. I dont have the knowledge to change to a ifs so I am going to leave it stock. I just dont want to waste my time if the change wont make a difference. Also one other question, the wiring is all messed up and dry rotted so I am making a new harness. Is there a place to get original connectors. Thanks

Re: Axle question

original connectors on classic truck parts.com ,,for wiring i go to ebay and theres a person on there who sells original style harnesses i used them on lights and tailights they like the factory.or other people get the ez wiring kit ,the kits way cheaper and you get a complete harness with newer fuse panel, theres ones on ebay for like $170 .
