72 Chevy shortbed at the pick n pull

Here are some front end pictures of a 72 Chevy short bed at the pick n pull in Waco between Dallas and Austin.

Six cylinder with the motor and trans intact, decent fenders, core support and hood. Many other good parts if anyone needs something off of it let me know, I cannot pull the big stuff such as the engine, hood or bed sides. I can haul the fenders, core support and smaller parts.

Price would be pick in pull price plus shipping and a little fuel money. Not trying to make a lot here hopefully this might help someone out.

Here are a few pictures of the front end, the passenger side fender has some dirt on it. Whole front end sheet metal seems to be in decent shape.

Does it have a bed? Fleet or step? Any noticeable filler in doors or fenders? What do they get for those parts?

Re: 72 Chevy shortbed at the pick n pull

They get about $60 for the fenders they appear to be in very good shape. I think the doors $70 (loaded) were fair to good having small rust issues in the bottom corners.

As far as bedsides I think it was a sort Fleetside but I did not take too close of a look until I got to the front of the truck.

Google pick in pull Waco texas once you go to the website there is a part pricing tab. They do not keep these old ones around very long.

If you call them up they do not keep track of what parts are left on a car.

Not only do they not keep track of what parts are left, they can't and won't verify it is a swb.

Re: 72 Chevy shortbed at the pick n pull

If the passenger fender is solid in lower front tip and no major rust and the radiator core support is solid I am interested. I have relatives in Waco would not need them shipped. I will trust your judgement on these parts. Pull them and I will give a little extra for your time and fuel for both. Let me know. Also while there check out and confirm is a solid short fleet bed. I would be interested in the bed also.

Hopefully I can get back out tomorrow and check the fender and core support closely. Will also give the bedsides the once over and shoot you the pictures.

Re: 72 Chevy shortbed at the pick n pull

Checked the truck out thoroughly today it has major rust issues on both fenders and core support. The rockers are also gone completely rusted out where they meet the floor.

Truck was a three speed on the tree, trans is gone.

Straight six engine complete carb to oil pan.

Nice dash no cracks, no radio Guage cluster has a crack in the lens.

Did not take note of the mirror I am probably going back out this Friday and can check.

The main part of the cab floor looks okay until it angles down to meet the rocker panel it is rusted out.

I have hauled a lot of parts wrapped in blankets in my wifes towncar but I think she would draw the line at strapping the side of a truck to the roof.

So probably not.
