2015 Silverado - On it's way!

Bought this unit just last night, and it's on its way (cars come to me, I do not go to them :-) ). Should be here in 20 minutes so to kill time I'm posting!

As I have a couple of kids turning 16 imminently I wanted RPO Y65 which includes the collision avoidance, lane warning, front and rear park sensors, blind spot monitor, seat vibrators, and stuff like that. It pushed me into a higher model (LTZ) than I wanted, but it's the only way to get it.

I figured a 6% bump in price was worth all of the extra safety geegaws now that I have kids (yeah, I know when you were a kid trucks only had one pedal and were hand start and we liked it that way).

The Z71 rides stiffer but isn't harsh, for some reason. It does feel a lot more solid.

We looked at the Ram (seemed cheap and old), the F-150 (my favorite motor), the Tundra (nice, but no safety stuff available yet), the Sierra (couldn't find a salesman and they only had 3 on the lot) and the Silverado, which ultimately won. Unlike my brother, I don't buy stuff -solely- because it's a GM product, but it's my preference all else equal.

I paid $44K on an MSRP of $50K. That's below invoice, at least, not sure what actually constitutes a good deal today. I'm not USAA or anything fancy so I think there were $1500 in rebates. They're just about giving away the "double cab" models but not so much the higher-demand LTZ Crew Cab Short Box units.
