Turn signals in cluster not working - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm in the process of taking care of a bunch of loose ends on my truck.

I have an issue where all four of my blinkers and hazards function normally, but I have no turn signal indication on the cluster.

I have removed the bulbs and tweaked the two prongs so I know they are making contact with the (new) printed circuit. Also when I installed the cluster I ran a ground from it to a good grounding spot.

I have never messed with this, but I'm assuming since the blinkers work, the cluster turn signals would be receiving it's voltage from the flasher also, since they cycle on/off with the blinkers. I would think it's a loose connection somewhere........somewhere.

Soooo, before I start tearing into the wrong place, where do you think I should look first?

Figured it out. Thanks to you guys.

That's sarcasm by the way.

I started looking at a wiring diagram and found that if the blinkers had voltage, then there would be a connection at a half moon shape connector under the dash, carrying that voltage up to the connector at the cluster.

So I removed that connector at the cluster to find that the PO had got a little Krylon Krazy at some point, and painted one side of the connector black along with the firewall. Didn't notice it when I installed the new cluster - obviously.

Anyway, it works now! One more thing checked off my list of 10,568 things to do.

The cluster blinkers are tied into the front turn signal wires Light blue and dark blue. I have seen some connected to the half moon connector on the steering column and some are tied into the wires at the inside firewall block.

The first diagram shows the steering column connector is show on the top right edge of the diagram. The top two terminals are the front turn signal wires joined with the wires that run to the dash turn indicators shown in the second diagram.

Also in the second diagram on the lower left is the two wires going into the fuse block and out to the front turn signals.
