Welcome to the site.... How hard did you search?

Directly above this section is a sub-section w/'stickies' that contains frequently asked questions. The last of the 8 topics listed is drum to disc conversions....
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=444823

That should provide some insight.

For the rear you'll need some aftermarket replacement axles & 71-72 drums (using new parts to convert) or swap a 5-lug rear into place (wrecking yard swap candidates are 71-87's) but they will be 1.5" wider over-all. Another option is to have your 47yr old axles re-drilled to the 5x5 pattern.

LIST of the way I would do it:
1) 63-70 conversion spindles
2) 73-87 HD rotors, caliper, bearings
3) 71-72 M/C and prop valve (direct bolt on)

LIST with 73-87 parts:
1) 73-87 spindles, rotors, calipers, bearings.
2) 73-87 Upper and lower ball joints
3) 73-87 steering, ALL of it. Centerlink, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm.
These parts are 24 years old at the newest.
They all need to be inspected and rebuilt or replaced.
4) 73-87 M/C and prop valve.
Fabricate M/C mount and correct brake pedal length.

Re: 67 c10 5 Lug Swap ? Ive Searched

Here is a basic list from the junk yard:

73-87 Spindles, get the ones that used the 1.25" thick rotor

For brakes, I would buy new parts:
Wheel Bearings, Inner & Outer
Rotor, 1.25" thick
Caliper
Pads
Hoses
Outer Tie Rods
Upper Ball Joints
Lower Ball Joints
Tie Rod adapter Sleeves: '67 inners are 5/8"-18 threads, '73-'87 outers are 11/16"-18 threads. These can be found at a number of companies, CPP, ECE, Performance Online:
Here is one of the sleeves: http://www.hotchkis.net/tie-rod-sleeves-58-1116.html. I know that is the high dollar one, but I could not find a link to the others in my quick search.

One correction.
You definitely use 73-87 OUTER tie rods to connect to the 73-87 spindle.
These tie rods are RH thread.

Here's the problem,...
63-70 INNER tie rods are ALSO RH thread.
So you have to use a 63-70 Outer tie rod moved to the inner location to get a LH thread.
Plus the conversion tie rods are a $50 purchase.

Use of 63-70 conversion spindles allows you to replace all your steering parts with the correct truck year parts. (63-70)

Thanks, Keith. I completely forgot that I used the OEM outer as the inner when I did the swap years ago. Thanks for clarifying that point.

correct.
Everything needs to match the year of spindle that you use.
That's the key to doing these swaps.

Thats a very general question.
You can use 73-87 or 71-72 a-arms.
Balljoints and tie rods need to match the spindle.

Just remember,... most of these parts are going to be wore out.
I feel like what I am saying is not understood.
The draglink and the spindles can be re-used.
All the other parts need to be purchased new.
Steering and braking are a HUGE safety issue.

If you are going to take the time and effort to disassemble your truck,... put NEW reliable parts back on.
If you can't afford it,... wait until you can.
This is the last time I will post in this thread.
