Need help! Stepside cross rail correct location.

Guys need your help in a big way. I have inherited a 72 Chevy Stepside that my late father in law was in the middle of building. I'm working on getting a rear fuel tank put in. Currently the bed is 3 hours away so I'm not able to mock everything up with the bed on, to make sure I don't have clearance issues later. My question is in the attached picture does the rear cross rail look to be in the correct position?

Thanks Rick

Re: Need help! Stepside cross rail correct location.

looks like the correct location.

if ya look at the inside ends of the sills one of them will have 2 weld nuts about 3" apart on both sides this is the very front sill and the nut sides go towards the cab. the nuts are to bolt the step "L" bracket too.

figured i would throw this out there in case you do some cutting to any of the sills.

Thank you I will have to look at the cross rails for the nuts. I actually think I'm missing the front rail. I'm hoping that it is still attached to the bed, and will be looking next time I'm down where the bed is located.

Thanks Rick
