Hey guys. Im new to the forum and and bagging trucks and so i dont really know how to work this. I have a 1969 chevy c10 longbed I have bagged but I want to lay frame. What kind of set up would I use for the rear to do that? do i need a four link? or can i use trailing arms? thanks

I'm planning to do this, but build my own frame.
You will need to step notch the frame. You can buy step notches, or you can build and weld your own.
The stock trailing arms can be used, as long as they clear the frame when it lays out.
The rear bags have to be relocated further up the trailing arm. I've heard it rides better than bags over axle.

Okay. but how much farther can i move the bag up. and how would I clear the frame with the trailing arms and still be able to mount the bag onto them? thanks.

Re: Rear Air Ride set up

Here's what one guy did. He said he had to add 2 inch blocks under the axle to lay frame.
See where the trailing arms hit the frame? You can modify the frame so you don't have to use blocks.

This is a really good dependable setup. http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx In the keyword box, type in 'rear air ride'.

Re: Rear Air Ride set up

Plenty of different setups in google images. But this one using the stock trailing arms is the simplest. Any way you look at it, it's a huge job to take on. If you can weld, you're better off just buying some metal to build your own frame.
