Tough decision what say you?

I purchased a very clean bed and gate a few months ago on GA . No rust very straight new wood ,my plan was to use it on my 68 Golden .

Heres the decision ,met a guy at last weeks show with a 503 70 c10 longbed that needs a bed and gate . Cab is nice but the bed is rotted to the point of no fixing it . Bottom of the gate is swiss cheese. He came over to look at my stepside this afternoon lives about 10 minutes away from me cause I mentioned I'm thinking of selling it when its done .

He saw the bed and made a generous offer on it . Roughly twice what I paid for it.

On the one hand I dont need the money but could use the room .

I'd sell unless you needed it, make your money and move on.

Ya I should have stated that. The bed has a few extra drainage holes but I'm going just do mechanicals and leave the body as is . Maybe put a couple of patches in the bed and rhino line it .

Re: Tough decision what say you?

If you can still carry out your original plans on the 68 golden without this bed/gate combo, sell and pocket the profit. Unless the cost of the original plans would be more then what you will get back in selling the bed.

Re: Tough decision what say you?

Space has always been the motivating factor for me selling anything. How much do you need the room?

And if you're like me. How fast are you going to fill that empty space back up. I could sell everything in my garage tomorrow and in 6 months it would be right back to where it is today.

Re: Tough decision what say you?

So if you keep it you will store it 'til if and when you might need it for the 50th? You have to decide if you are committed to running it as is forever or not. If you think you will ever need that bed, keep it. If he wants to restore his truck he could buy all new parts and have a great bed.

It's in my barn where I park my 72 for the winter . Space is becoming a problem I have too many vehicles . I delayed on buying Joesjunk 71 because of this
He won't need the bed the bed till this fall hes just driving it for the summer then it goes to the body shop so I can decide at a later date
