Wiring on Flaming River column

I took all the wiring from the original column and got it wired to the Flaming River column. The directions were pretty straight forward. They left one wire off the list. There is a long gray wire that is separate from the wiring plug on the Flaming River column. They make no mention what this wire is for and my original column did not have it.

Anybody know what this is for?

Re: Wiring on Flaming River column

The directional switches are different on a non-tilt column to a tilt column. The gray wire is for the bulb that illuminates the gearshift indicator.

Re: Wiring on Flaming River column

The truck originally had a non-tilt, I put in a tilt, then I needed a shorter column, so I went with the FR.

Thanks for the gray wire info!
