I need a set of trim clips for upper and lower side trim for '69 short fleet. Bolt-on and push-in type, not the tape type. I have new trim that came with clips, but they are JUNK! Someone please help!

Thanks for the reply, WES. I was hoping some member might be able to help me out with some originals. I've been sifting around the shop and have found a few here and there (even pilfered some off the GMC driver!), so I won't need a complete set of lower but I do need all for the upper. Anyone? Help!

Okay... what is the difference between the clips you had originally with the trim, and what you got with the new trim. I have seen quite a few guys talk about this, and I am getting ready to put the new trim on my blazer. I want to make sure I get the good clips before I do this

On the earlier trucks, they used clips all the way. On 71-72's, they thought they'ed save a few bucks and put plastic tabs on the door and bedside pieces with double sided tape and only use clips on the ends. For some reason, they did put clips all the way on the upper front fender piece on 71-72's(?) Anyway, the tape type puts a little bulge in the trim, and when you sight down the side of the truck you can see the tape! The clips pull the trim up nice and snug. PITA to remove, though. The repos include the tape tpye and some horrible bolt-ons for the ends. They are not long enough, and when you try to tighten them they will spin in the trim. So, if you are buying repo trim save some $ and tell them to keep the clips.

I wasn't to impressed with the new clips either. I went back to my original ones.

For the record though my new GM trim had the same junky ones in it also.
