Tonneau covers
I currently have an extang vinyl tonneau cover on my 98 GMC. Its an over the side rail style soft cover. Its starting to show its age in the frame, and I have to replace the cover every 6 yrs or so with the AZ sun killing everything within reach. I love the look of it being an over the bed rail style setup.
I want to switch to a tri-fold solid tonneau, but it seems like all of them are flush with the bed, in between the rails style. Does anyone make an over the rail style setup I can buy or am I kinda screwed?

Re: Tonneau covers
Yes it is harder and harder to find any type tonneau for these year trucks. Fleetside models still seem to have a little support, but nothing for the stepside style beds. I'm like you I like the over the top style covers, but they seem to be going the ways of the dodo.

Re: Tonneau covers
Never seen a full over rail folding bed cover for any truck. A quick search for your year revealed some that set on top of the bed sides. Searched for 98 chevy bed lid. Going to have to pony up a bit. 1K+

Re: Tonneau covers
Here are a couple above the bed rail tri-fold hard covers for 88-98 trucks that are fleetside, but they don't go fully over the rails like a solid 1 piece tonneau cover.
