AC question
I am looking to change the motor and trans in my 70 chevy, thinking of going with a new generation 350...my question is, can you use a new style AC compressor with the factory ac set up in the truck and if so what modifications are required?

Re: AC question
I'm not an A/C expert but I think you can.

Re: AC question
I put A/C on a '71 using a mid 80s Corvette serpentine setup. I used the "newer" R4 compressor. I am not a big fan. You have to lengthen the A/C line from the evaporator to make it work and those comprerssors sling oil and will lock up if not used regularly. I would keep the original A6 or if you can find a (I think) 89-91 Corvette serpentine setup with the Nippendenso compressor it would work better. That one is a much better compressor than the R4 (or A6) IMHO. If you go aftermarket, then the Sanden is also a very nice compressor.

Re: AC question
Thanks for the response...I should have said that I am wanting to go to the serpentine belt set up, and I am wondering what other than the compressor would have to be changed?
