painting bed
Current plan is to paint inside of bedsides, the front panel both sides and bolt them onto raptor lined floor. My question is should I use strip caulk between the bedsides and floor, between front panel and floor and around the wheel wells? Paint is red and strip caulk is black, not sure if much will squeeze out and the difficulty of cleaning it up. Advice?

Re: painting bed
In the area where the sides meet the bed ,what I would suggest is priming that area with a permanent rust sealer. apply two coats along that seamed area and paint it and assemble it. Anywhere that dirt and moisture lay flush it out good with an acid-based rust remover, follow it up with two coats of the aluminum pigmented permanent rust sealer , then prime and paint. When you drive the bolts in and scratch the surface the rust won't go beyond the scratch.

Re: painting bed
On mine I wanted to seal the cracks and seams, taped off the mating surfaces after a couple coats of epoxy primer. No strip caulk...With the parts painted and in between coats of tinted Raptor I used polyurethane caulk top and bottom. Then sprayed 2nd coat in the time window..preferred caulk...Sika 1a Polyurethane caulk also used to glue in modern winshields.....you can also use seam sealer if you want to spend the extra money.

Re: painting bed
Thanks for the replies. I'm painting the insides of the box while disassembled so I'll have to think on this some more.
