1970 Chevy C10 shortbed

I recently began the project of restoring my fathers 1970 C10. I'm pulling the inline 6 original engine this weekend. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ziplock bags and a marker. Put bolts in bag and label to keep bolts from getting lost. Im "re-doing" not restoring a 70 c10 longbed. I lose bolts al the time so this is a big help lol

Like the above poster said, bag and mark EVERYTHING. Also take lots of pics for future reference. In this day of digital, there is no reason not to. I remember using a Polaroid camera for reference photos. I sure don't miss that lol

If you're diving in, flip lid cigarette packs if available and masking tape keeps things real organized. I bummed a bunch from people I know. That and I'd like to quit smoking. I'm about half done, have approx. 70 with parts and another 70 waiting.

That and no box or padding is safe from me. If you enjoy (ha) dumpster diving like I do, hit the right outlets for nice padding. A carpet store is great for carpet pad, even new. Only cost is folks with a ? on their faces.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 shortbed

Thanks for info. I've been to Outback a few weeks ago. They have just about everything you need there. I bought a set of original 6-lug rally wheels from them. Now I'm in search of the 6-lug center cap that have the Chevy emblem. The center caps I have now says, " 4X4 ". My truck is 2 wheel drive

I bought some bowtie emblems and covered up the 4 wheel drive emblems on mine.
