4L70-E 2wd vs 4wd
I'm considering using a GM connect and cruise set-up in my "69 4WD.
I've about got it narrowed down to the HT383 w/ a 4L70E. Price and installation issues have me thinking this choice vs. the LS based options. My question is this. Many places in GM info they reference a 4L70E as a 2WD only trans and others places as fit for 4WD. Is there an actual difference in the transmission on 2 vs, 4WD vehicles or only the installation issues? Thanks for any help |

Re: 4L70-E 2wd vs 4wd
Output shaft is different. If you have a 4x4, than you will need the shorter output shaft for the transfer case along with the adapter between the trans and TC. The 4L70 series will have the six bolt adapter.
