Dose anyone know if I will have drop the whole crank to change this. I am hoping to have the seal slide out.

Re: Rear Main Seal 89 BBC

You just lube the upper half of the seal and slide it in. The old one will push out with little force. Be careful not to scratch the crank with whatever you use to push the seal out.

That is what I thought but it has been so long since I have done one like this. I will use something hard plastic. I am going to get my 13 y.o boy under to take the pan off. He needs to learn.

Use a small pencil.
Easier to find in the right size.

You might have to lift the engine to get enough clearance to drop the oil pan.

There is plenty of room.
