Roll Cage and Street Truck?

I'm looking for suggestions whether I should have a roll cage. It's a 67 big block 2wd swb 650-900 hp, new sheet metal, and tank and battery in back. I've heard roll cages stiffen the body up and can cause highway vibrations on some vehicles. Since this is primarily street, I will not be cutting any glass or going to lexan for the windows. Second, I appreciated a vehicle I can get in and out of without climbing over supports...... I'm a big guy and that cab is already small enough.

I have seen some rubber isolator's between cab supports and rear supports to reduce the vibration on rock crawlers. Is this becoming more common? Also, am I to assume with a roll cage the cab body mounts (rubber isolators) are now useless? Please advise. Thanks.

Re: Roll Cage and Street Truck?

Theres a lot of different ways to mount the cage. You can run swing out door bars so you dont hafta climb. if your making for real 900hp you should have a cage just for the safety factor. All it takes is to break traction one time at speed truck turn sideways and into a wall and you will wish you spent the money on a cage.
