71 door panels

I have been putting a 71 back together and the doors are off an earlier model. I had some real nice white vinyl panels that came off my original doors. The screw holes don't match up on the bottom. I thought about drilling new holes, but don't want to screw it up.

Re: 71 door panels

pictures of doors might help. I thought the doors were the same 1967-1971 with the change being 1972? But I am not sure which is why I suggested a picture.

Re: 71 door panels

I think the panels transitioned in late 71. I have a deluxe set of parchment panels that do not have the single recessed screw hole on the back edge. There are two added screws that look like they were added at the factory or dealer. I have never seen any 72 like this before. If actually 72 they'd be one of the very early 72's.

I think my panels are exactly as yours. Gonna have to look tonight. They are parchment deluxe. When I tried to install them the outside holes didn't line up.

Re: 71 door panels

Nope I have a set of 72 style deluxe plastic that do not have the factory screw holes. Only set I've ever seen.
