Dirty dingo vs Pac Fab

In looking at the choices available for motor mounts for a LS swap, I like the dirty dingo and the pac fab. Only concern is clearance for the AC compressor. Any reason to go with one of these over the other?

The compressor is tight, but is ahead of the crossmember so clearance shouldn't be an issue. IMHO, don't waste your time with AC unless you have a hardtop. I put an Old Air kit in my Blazer and was a waste of $1500 because it's like trying to cool a tent. If you are using an aftermarket system, then take a look at the Vintage air. I believe it has a higher BTU rating that the Old Air. I've installed both, and found the Old Air had a really small evaporator for the size of the truck.

Are you looking at the cross members for a 4wd? If so, I ordered the Dirty Dingo because I liked the drop out center section in case I need to get the oil pan off. I also plan to use their adjustable sliders so I can position the cross member where it fits best. Hop6ig to get it back far enough to get decent clearance for the front diff. Might even ge to leave the bump stops in their original spot!

hemi43, so do you know if the AC compressor will clear with either the pac fab or dirty dingo?
michael, since mine is a 4x4, I don't think POL has anything for me..?
CJM72, yep. I'm liking the DD too. I just need to find somebody that has been able to use the facotry AC compressor with the DD.

This thread has a good shot showing the Pacific Fab cross member with the factory AC compressor. I couldn't find a matching pic of the Dirty Dingo setup. My recollection is that they both put the AC in the same place...especially if you're keeping your t-case in the factory location.

I know some guys have made it work by making or using fancy right angle fittings on the compressor. Or they move the driveline forward so the AC sits in the flared section of frame, but that will require moving the trans/t-case cross member and making new driveshafts.

Hopefully someone will chime in with personal experience.
