Are these drop spindles?

I am having trouble identifying these. Are they drop or not? The axle placement looks stock but the bent steering arm looks like a drop?

Re: Are these drop spindles?

Well that's good as I am tracking down some uneven stance issues and I think the PO torched the springs to lower it. If these are stock and the fact the springs a rusted like they took some heat would confirm my suspicions.

That is a stock drum brake spindle.

Re: Are these drop spindles?

I have another thread started for it, but my truck is not sitting level. It looks worse in the rear. Last night I was looking to see what spindles I had(not realizing they don't make drop spindles for drum brakes) and noticed my drivers side coil looked more compressed than the passenger side coil. I'm hoping that replacing the coils will fix the uneven stance. I believe the previous owner heated the springs with a torch to lower it. I just hope the rear leafs didn't get the same treatment.

Re: Are these drop spindles?

Post a pic of the leaf springs.
The "torch lowering guys" usually heat the leaf spring in front of the rear spring eye.

Re: Are these drop spindles?

I would but can't really get a good shot of the leaf without taking the wheel off. I will take a better look at it in a bit.

Re: Are these drop spindles?

Our truck sits the same way. Its down about 1.0-1.5" in the driver side front.

Google the term "chevy lean"
